I started playing squash at University when one of my friends suggested I try it as a change from badminton (I played badminton for the University second team). I've been playing it ever since. I've played in individual and team leagues in Manchester, Jeddah, Al Khobar, and now Bahrain.
When I played in Jeddah I used to think I was quite skillful but now I realise that I was just very fit (all that racing with Jeddah Road Runners). If only I'd slowed down a bit and thought a little more about where I was hitting the ball I could have been a bit better !
Now I play for the Dilmun Club team in the Bahrain Squash League. It's good competitive squash in a pleasant social atmosphere with a beer and a meal afterwards. I still play to a reasonable standard but the legs are definitely slowing down.
